በተለይም በአሁኑ ወቅት ከሴዳል ወረዳ ወደ ሌሎች አካባቢዎች ሸሽተው የሚገኙ ነዋሪዎች እንደሚገልጹት፣ ከጥር ወር 2013 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ በወረዳው በሚደርሱ ተደጋጋሚ ጥቃቶች ምክንያት በርካታ ነዋሪዎች የተፈናቀሉ ሲሆን፣ ከመጋቢት ወር 2013 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮ የመንግስት መስሪያ ቤቶች ዝግ ሆነው ቆይተዋል።
