This Advisory Note on Transitional Justice prepared by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights presents the preliminary findings of thirteen community consultations held on transitional justice with over 700 individuals in several regions of Ethiopia, between July and December 2022. In addition to presenting the views and suggestions of conflict-affected populations on transitional justice, the Advisory Note highlights the key regional and international principles and standards that should guide the development and implementation of transitional justice initiatives. The community consultations will continue in 2023 to cover all regions and federal city administrations in Ethiopia.
