Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
UDHR, Article 26(3)
States Parties shall respect the liberty of parents or legal guardians to choose for their children’s schools, other than those established by the public authorities, which conform to such minimum educational standards as may be laid down or approved by the State.
ICESCR, Article 13(3)
Education shall be provided in a manner that is free from any religious influence, political partisanship or cultural prejudices.
