Everyone has the right to protection against cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment

ማንኛውም ሰው ጭካኔ ከተሞላበት፣ ኢሰብአዊ ከሆነ ወይም ክብርን ከሚያዋርድ አያያዝ ወይም ቅጣት የመጠበቅ መብት አለው

የዩናይትድ ስቴትስ የውጭ ጉዳይ መሥሪያ ቤት፣ ኢትዮጵያን በሚመለከት በቅርቡ ያወጣው የሰብአዊ መብት ሪፖርት፣ ከጣምራ ቡድኑ ሪፖርት ጋራ በአመዛኙ ተመሳሳይ እንደ ኾነ የኢሰመኮ ዋና ኮሚሽነር ዳንኤል በቀለ ገለጹ

በኮሚሽኑ የሴቶችና ህጻናት መብቶች ኮሚሽነር መስከረም ገስጥ በመግለጫው እንዳሉት ከህግ አግባብ ውጭ የተፈጸሙ የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰቶች ላይ በማተኮር አቤቱታዎች የሚደመጡ ይሆናል

ነጻነታቸውን ከሕግ አግባብ ውጭ እና በዘፈቀደ ተነፍገናል የሚሉ ሰዎችን አቤቱታ መቀበያ መድረክ በባሕርዳር ከተማ ሊያካሂድ መኾኑን የኢትዮጵያ ሰብዓዊ መብቶች ኮሚሽን ገልጿል

በዘር፣ በብሔር፣ ብሔረሰብ፣ በቀለም፣ በጾታ፣ በቋንቋ፣ በሃይማኖት፣ በፖለቲካ፣ በማኀበራዊ አመጣጥ፣ በሀብት፣ በትውልድ ወይም በሌላ አቋም ምክንያት ልዩነት ሳይደረግ ሰዎች ሁሉ እኩልና ተጨባጭ የሕግ ዋስትና የማግኘት መብት አላቸው

Each State party must act to end racial discrimination “in all its forms”, to take no action as a State, and to ensure that no public entity does so whether national or local

The Chief Commissioner described the meeting as having been “positive and fruitful” and an opportunity to emphasize at a high level “the importance of a nationwide victim-centred and human rights compliant transitional justice process and mechanism”
