የኢትዮጵያ ሰብአዊ መብቶች ኮሚሽን (ኢሰመኮ) በፌዴራል ሕገ መንግሥቱ መሰረት ነጻ ፌዴራላዊ መንግሥት አካል ሆኖ የተቋቋመና ለሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ተጠሪ የሆነ ለሰብአዊ መብቶች መስፋፋት፣ መከበርና እና ጥበቃ የሚሠራ ብሔራዊ የሰብአዊ መብቶች ተቋም ነው፡፡ (የኢፌዴሪ ሕገ መንግሥት አንቀጽ 55/14 እና አዋጅ ቁጥር 210/1992 በአዋጅ ቁጥር 1224/2012 እንደተሻሻለው)

Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is an independent federal state body established as per the Federal Constitution and reporting to House of People’s Representatives as a national human rights institution with the mandate for promotion and protection of human rights.
