NHRIs play a vital role to advance children's rights and ensure implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child in Africa: the 40th Ordinary Session of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC)
The 40th ordinary session of ACERWC was the first time EHRC engaged formally with the Committee as one of only two African NHRIs with an affiliate status
