Gender Equality refers to the right to equality and non-discrimination between men and women in all spheres. It is a fundamental human rights principle that every individual shall be equal before the law and shall be entitled to equal protection of the law without distinction of any kind.
To mark International Women’s Day 2022, here is an overview of the Commission’s advocacy messages on women’s rights from March 8, 2021 to March 8, 2022.
The Commission also wishes to place particular emphasis on the need to include the voices of women and girls during all stages of ongoing and planned peacemaking and cessation of hostilities.
