በጠቅላላው 178 ሰዎች የተያዙ ሲሆን ከነዚህም ውስጥ 28ቱ የዞኑ ከፍተኛ ባለስልጣናት ናቸው

በወላይታ ዞን አንዳንድ ከተሞች ነሐሴ 4 ቀን 2012 ዓ.ም. በተደረጉት ተቃውሞዎች የፀጥታ ኃይሎች በተቃውሞ ሰልፈኞች ላይ የወሰዱት እርምጃ ተመጣጣኝነት አጠያያቂ መሆኑን  የኢትዮጵያ ሰብዓዊ መብቶች ኮሚሽን አስታወቀ፡፡

የተለያዩ ምንጮች እንደጠቆሙት የተቃውሞ ሰልፉ የተቀሰቀሰው ሰኞ ዕለት በፌዴሬሽኑ ውስጥ አዲስ የክልል መንግሥት መመስረትን በተናጠል ለማወጅ በፈለጉ በርካታ ከፍተኛ የዞኑ ባለስልጣናት እስርን ተከትሎ ነው፡፡ የመንግስት ባለስልጣናት እንደሚሉት ከሆነ ግን ታሳሪዎቹ በአካባቢው አለመረጋጋት ለመፍጠር ሲያሴሩ ተይዘዋል ብለዋል፡፡

የኮሚሽኑ የመረጃ ምንጮች እንዳአስረዱት የባለስልጣናቱን እስር ተከትሎ የተቃውሞ ሰልፈኞች በዞኑ ዙሪያ በሚገኙ በርካታ ከተሞች ወደ ጎዳናዎች የወጡ ሲሆን በዞኑ ዋና ከተማ በሶዶ አንድ ሰው እንዲሁም በቦዲቲ አምስት ሰዎች መሞታቸው ታውቋል፡:

በሰኞው እስር ወቅት በጠቅላላው 178 ሰዎች የተያዙ ሲሆን ከነዚህም ውስጥ 28ቱ የዞኑ ከፍተኛ ባለስልጣናት መሆናቸው እና በወላይታ ሶዶ የቴክኒክና ሙያ ትምህርትና ሥልጠና ኮሌጅ ውስጥ በቁጥጥር ስር የሚገኙ መሆኑን ለማወቅ ተችሏል፡፡

የኢትዮጵያ ሰብዓዊ መብቶች ኮሚሽን ቃል አቀባይ፣ አቶ አሮን ማሾ እንደገለጹት “የፀጥታ ኃይሎች ሰላማዊ ሰልፎችን በሚቆጣጠሩበት ወቅት የሞት አደጋን የሚያስከትል የኃይል እርምጃ ከመውሰድ ሊቆጠቡ ይገባል፤ እንደነዚህ ያሉ እርምጃዎች ቀድሞውኑን የነበረ ውጥረትን ያባብሱ እንደሆን እንጂ መፍትሔ አይሆኑም” ብለዋል፡፡ 
አቶ አሮን አያይዘውም በግጭቱ ወቅት የተከሰተው የ6 ሰልፈኞች አሟሟትን እና የጸጥታ ኃይሎች የኃይል አጠቃቀምን አስመልክቶ ፈጣን ምርመራ የሚያስፈልግ መሆኑን አስረድተዋል፡፡  እንዲሁም የታሳሪዎችን መብቶች ማክበርና በአፋጣኝ ወደ ፍርድ ቤት መቅረብ ማረጋገጥ ያስፈልጋል ብለዋል፡፡

ለስረ-ችግሩ ዘላቂ መፍትሔ ከመፈለግ አንጻርም የፌዴራልና የክልሉ መንግስታት በክልሉ ውስጥ ለተነሱት የክልልነት ጥያቄዎች ወቅታዊና ሰላማዊ መፍትሔ በስራ ላይ እንዲውል ከፍተኛ ጥረትና ትኩረት ሊያደርጉ ይገባል፡፡
