U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga had a discussion with EHRC chief commissioner Berhanu Adelo today.
During a discussion he appreciated the EHRC’s efforts to peacebuilding and shown the United States’ support for the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
In a statement shared by the U.S. Embassy in Ethiopia, Ambassador Massinga underscored “U.S. support for Ethiopian Human Rights Commission’s detailed, transparent reporting on recent killings in Arsi and its efforts to facilitate prisoner releases earlier this year.”
The Embassy also stated that the United States “looks forward to EHRC’s continued work alongside the Ethiopian Government, particularly in conflict-affected areas like Tigray, to advance economic recovery, institution-building, restoration of judicial systems, democracy, and social reintegration.”
